Meldi Maa is a Hindu goddess and household deity who protects farmland. A legend says that she can grant any wish. She is mainly famous in the western state of Gujarat. She is a revered goddess for gujrati farming Hindus and people of Chunvalia Koli. Her vahana is a goat. She has eight hands which hold a variety of weapons.

According to Wikipedia, Meldi Maa was born from the dirt that came out of the hands of Goddess Uma, who was angry with the demon Amruva. Meldi Maa killed the demon, who had hidden inside a dead cow's skin, and pleased Goddess Uma. She was then sent to Chamunda Maa, who tested her by sending her to Kamrup Kamakhya, where she defeated all the tantrics, kapaliks, and aghoris, and made them her captive in a bottle. She also made the ghosts, spirits, jinns, masans, pisachas, and other ethereal forces her mount by turning them into a goat. She was then blessed by the nine forms of Durga as the supreme power of Kaliyuga, who can destroy the evils of dirt, lust, anger, pride, greed, attachment, and jealousy.

Another legend says that Meldi Maa was the daughter of a Rabari couple, who lived in Saurashtra. One day, she went to graze the cattle with her brother, but he left her alone and went to play with his friends. Meldi Maa was then attacked by a lion, who tore her apart and ate her. Her brother came back and saw the horrific scene. He cried and prayed to Goddess Amba to bring his sister back to life. Goddess Amba heard his plea and appeared before him. She told him that his sister's soul had merged with her and she had become Meldi Maa. She asked him to build a temple for her and worship her as his sister and mother. She also promised to protect him and his cattle from all dangers.

Meldi Maa is worshipped in various temples across Gujarat and Rajasthan. The most famous temple is in Anand district of Gujarat, where thousands of devotees visit every year.
